Soon after, "Edge of the Abyss" was also produced, the two cassettes representing a companion pair of similar haunting and, at times, disturbing themes. In 2001 "Dreams of Forgotten Places" was further digitally enhanced and some tracks lengthened and burned to CD.
"Edge of the Abyss" will become available in 2002, followed by a more spacious but haunting CD titled "Underwater Contours".
Although fitting the New Age label, the music defies fitting one label, widely spanning across Classical, Electronic and Ambient genres. In many places it contains haunting and uplifting layering harmonies and in others, disturbing or dramatic effects. As a result it at first appears peaceful to meditate to, yet the listener is taken on an inner voyage to places not expected, rather than lulled into a relaxed contemplative mood.
Most of the tracks on "Dreams of Forgotten Places" contain no overdubbing, being recorded in one session without further layering of sound. Tony plays up to 5 keyboards simultaneously, and adds sequencers and drums as well, creating a very full and complex sound. He also plays electric guitar on "Bay of Roses", from "Dreams of Forgotton Places".
The entire process of conceiving, playing, recording, mixing, editing and mastering the music was done by Tony Ingham alone, as was the design, artwork and photography for the CD covers. The music represents an ongoing voyage of self-discovery and a complete personal project.
